App of the Week - Where’s My Perry?

By Sarah Combs

Perry the Platypus (of the hit Disney show Phineas and Ferb) is no average mammal. He’s looking to save the world, and he needs your help!

In Where’s My Perry?, Disney’s latest and greatest app, you help Agent P (otherwise known as Perry the Platypus) power his underground travel through a super-secret tube system by directing water to generators. Where are you helping Agent P travel to? Why, the headquarters of Major Monogram, of course!

You cut through dirt and rock in order to guide water and ice to these generators to power Perry’s travel. The physics of the game are spot-on and super realistic, which makes this game just that much more fun.

There are some surprises thrown in too! The evil villain Dr. Doofenshmirt has scattered lasers through the levels and you’ll need to collect them all in order to change water into all of its different forms. (Seems more helpful than evil to us...). These lasers are called “crazy-inators” and there are different kinds: the “heat-inator” instantly turns a body of water into steam, or ice into water, the “cool-inator” instantly turns a body of water into ice, and steam into water, and the “celebrate-inator”…well, that’s classified.

It’s a beautiful game, with super smooth, highly polished graphics and a certain depth that is unique to Disney products. The storyline is adorable and will be familiar to fans of Phineas and Ferb. Even though we were just playing the game to review it, we couldn’t put it down and it will definitely be staying on our office iPad for future playthroughs.

The only, very minor issue with Where’s My Perry is that the app is very similar to Where’s My Water (both in name and gameplay). They are both physics-based puzzle games with incredibly similar layouts. There are a few links to social networking sites, but they’re generally contained on the menu page and out of the way of your little dude and dudette’s fingers.

Where’s My Perry is recommended for Toddlers, Kids, Tweens, Teens, and Parents (Ages 2 and up) for engaging puzzle fun. Find screenshots, reviews, and family-friendly ratings for Where’s My Perry and more of the best Android apps at Famigo.com.
